Holiday Adventures | ||
|     Kucak’s Holiday Activities are designed to provide a one week opportunity for Turkish believing children to get to know one another, have an enjoyable vacation time and build relationships. Each “adventure” time is designed to provide opportunity for them to express their ideas and beliefs and friendships in a warm environment. They build friends with kids not only from various cities in Turkey but from other countries as well. It is a great time to rest and be refreshed. In order for all this to happen as well as to meet the children’s expectations, we at Kucak begin preparing months in advance. We work hard on choosing the facilities and the staff, writing a menu as well as puzzle games, finding sunscreen and toothpaste; none of these details can be missed if we want to have a successful holiday for the kids.. |

During the holiday the kids get up early and form their small groups. They then have breakfast, followed by watching a “play” and singing worship songs together with our worship group. They then get together again in small groups according to age to discuss that day’s subject. They hear a Bible story, discuss it together and then work on answering the questions and solving the puzzles in the work/puzzle book that has been prepared. They then work together in their groups on one of 20 different choices they have for crafts and other creative activities. They clean their rooms after lunch and prepare for various afternoon activities (picnic, field trip, games, races, etc.). After this activity they have a snack to reinvigorate them; before dinner they play football, volleyball or simply talk with one another. After dinner there is a time of worship with our worship band where they sing songs around a campfire. We tell them some bedtime stories to prepare them for their evening rest.
                  While the kids sleep, the staff come together to evaluate the days activities and discuss the following day’s schedule. The next day the same excitement begins again! |
